Blogosphere Roundup

I’m working on changing this current situation where I can only post one MP3 per day. Suggestions welcome. Till then, I’m thinking it’s better to dig from my own music collection for full-on MP3 postings, and then more or less just link to the good things coming from elsewhere in the blogosphere. So here are some notes on the good and recent.

(1) Willie Loco Alexander: ‘Gin.’ Via Schmooze Blog

Guest Post: Schmooze Blog

(2) Navajo Bixby: ‘Down Under.’ Surf jams and psychedelia. Via Rose Quartz.

(3) Velvet Davenport: ‘Mystery Michael.’ Lo-fi psych-pop with which I’ve been not-mildly obsessed for some time now, thanks to an earlier post on Altered Zones. This from same.

Velvet Davenport: "Mystery Michael"

(4) Heavy Hawaii: ‘Teen Angel.’ Speaking of surf rock, from Art Fag Recordings, i.e. the kids responsible for the early hit from Best Coast, ‘Sun Was High (So Was I).’ From Weekly Tape Deck.

(5) Seapony: ‘Dreaming.’ Another guitar-pop jam. First via Transparent

(6) Porcelain Raft: ‘See Through.’ Percussive, lush, atmospheric. First via Delicious Scopitone

Porcelain Raft: "See Through"

(7) Algodón Egipcio: ‘El Ingenio Humano.’ Via International Tapes.

Full disclosure, in case it’s not already obvious: I first saw all of these at Altered Zones. More fun to link to the blogs producing the actual postings though.
